Collage Adventure 5 weeks, Thursday afternoons, Jan 15-Feb 12.
Complete a series of projects that systematically build skills and excitement about this powerful artistic medium. Includes “painting with paper,” photo collage, abstract compositions with mixed media textural papers, and more. Discover new ideas and techniques as you explore and play with possibility.
Mastering Composition, 2 afternoons, February 9-10.
Understand principles and elements of design and composition by studying artworks drawn from various world traditions and learn to apply these to your own work. Bring examples of your pieces in any medium for analysis/discussion. A supportive environment for developing a critical eye and understanding what makes your art “work.”
Create Healing Dolls and Spirit Figures, 3 Tuesday afternoons, March 3-17.
Create unique three-dimensional figures (healing spirit art dolls) that express a sense of mystery, power and whimsy. Learn simple construction techniques (eg, fabric over weighted bottles, wrapped sticks) and incorporate a wide range of evocative fibers, found materials and natural elements. It’s fun!

Learn to intuitively select and position photographic images into interesting, surprising and meaningful collage compositions--and discover what they have to tell you. The process is easy (cutting and pasting), fun, and potentially powerful. No experience needed and all materials provided.
Writing With Visual Prompts, ONLINE, 3 Monday evening sessions, Jan 26-Feb 9
Explore a way of working with visual image prompts that will take you to a different way of writing and help you get in touch with your most creative self. This freewriting practice draws on intuitive, pre-verbal ways of knowing that go beyond the rational mind and lead to unexpected and even magical writing. You will work with intriguing images that may in themselves spark something meaningful and fresh in you.
